Dow employees and retirees in North America are especially anxious to make an immediate and meaningful, personal contribution for their friends and co-workers who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.

As Dow people are known for their caring and sensible approach to problem solving, "Merchant Cards" from the following retailers can be purchased by Dow employees for distribution to their colleagues in St. Charles:

- Walmart (only available for U.S.)

- Lowes (only available for U.S.)

- Home Depot (only available for U.S.)

- American Express (only available for U.S.)

- Visa (available for U.S. and Canadian employees; only online Visa gift card purchases from Canada, using your personal Visa card, sent to the U.S. are accepted)

Due to the many restrictions imposed by the merchants, using the online Visa gift card option is the only available alternative for employees in Canada.

"The purchase of a merchant card is a way that we can each help another employee," said Gary Veurink. "By using your own funds this way, you can make a bold statement and help a friend in need."
